RESTAURANT REVIEWERS NEEDED!

If you and your children go out to eat anytime between now and the next EAGLE meeting, pay close attention to the things that a restaurant reviewer would notice. The journalism class would like to put some real kids' opinions in their paper!

I've replaced the Events page on the website with a Google Calendar. If you want an event placed on the calendar just let me know! Any event,,, church event, birthday, convention, whatever!

Valentines Day Activities

EAGLE falls just a few days before Valentine's Day this year. We will have an optional Valentine's exchange for those wanting to participate. Here are some things you might want to know for that day (Feb. 10, 2009)

We will have a table designated on which the kids may place their Valentines Boxes (more on that in a minute)
If you need a current list of participants for your cards please email me at cnewmans at yahoo dot com. We will have a final list available at the Jan. 27th meeting. So far we have 22 if you are making or buying cards.
There will be a small bake sale for the 4H of Valentine's day treats. We need to have a little cash in our coffers.
The kids are free to distribute their Valentine cards at any time during the day. Whenever they get a chance is fine.
There will be a small prize for the best box! You are not obligated to decorate a box with your children but here are some ideas:

Not specifically boxes but lots of Valentine's day crafts

You are welcome to bring and share goodies along with your cards but do not feel obligated.

Needlework is completely full. No more late coming students can be admitted. This is also true with Home Ec and Elementary Art.

ATTENTION!! If you intend on buying lunch at our next meeting and did not sign the sheet, please let Lynda know via email so she can be prepared with plenty of food. You also might want to add how many hotdogs your child will eat.
The menu for the 27th is:
Hotdogs: $1.00
Chips: $0.50
Soda: $0.50

If your child would like to exchange Valentines/treats at the meeting on the 12th of February, please make sure his or her name is on the list before our next meeting. We will discuss our plans for the Feb. 12th meeting before classes on Jan. 27th.

PLEASE try to arrive about 15m early to classes (if you are in the first period) so we can begin on time.

Home Ec and Elem. Art are CLOSED

Due to an overwhelming (and exciting) demand for Home Economics (cooking) and Elementary Art we must close sign ups. If you have already talked to one of the guidance committee about your child attending one of these 2 classes then you are in but we cannot take any more children.
We'd love to take more but the classes are growing to epic proportions and there is literally,, PHYSICALLY,,, no more room.
Thanks for your understanding! Can't wait for Tuesday!

I've updated the website. You'll notice that you'll need to bring your lunch the first day and there will be lunch offered at subsequent meetings. You'll also notice that the group policies are up for your perusal.

I updated the website today.
We have ONE MORE block of time to fill with a class if anyone wants it.
I scored a bag of foam floor coverings today on Freecycle! Don't forget to clear out your baby toys to donate to E.A.G.L.E.!

As of Nov. 17th. All of the classes that we have thus far have printable PDFs of their descriptions. Please use these to determine what classes your children would like to take!
Also, I wanted to add that we have TWO FREE BLOCKS OF TIME if anyone wants to teach a class!

The website has been updated. New class forms have been added as well as information on how you can collaborate with a homeschool mom that's writing a book.

Our First Meeting

Tuesday we had our first official meeting. It was an informational/teacher's luncheon. We're really excited and encouraged by those who came out to support us in this new venture! The food was delicious and the company was wonderful. I also have to mention how great the kids were. It helped a lot that Brittney and Sarah helped keep it to a low din. Thank you so much girls!
